How TeamLens handles information about athletes under 13 · Version 2026-08-12
TeamLens does not offer under-13 logins
The guardian provisioning flow requires a linked athlete record with a known age of 13 or older. If TeamLens learns that an athlete with a linked login is under 13, that login is revoked. Athletes under 13 otherwise appear only as records that a parent or guardian (or organization staff acting for them) manages.
What we collect about an under-13 athlete
When a guardian registers a child, the organization may collect the child's name, date of birth, emergency-contact details, and any medical or allergy notes the program asks for. The organization may also configure program-specific questions and uploads; it is responsible for limiting required information to what is reasonably necessary for that program. Matches may also be recorded, so game video—and audio only where the organization has lawfully enabled it—may include a child’s image or voice.
Parental consent
The guardian who registers the child provides this information themselves and agrees to our terms and the program waiver at the time of registration. When a sign-up is for a child under 13, we record that consent against the child's record. We do not collect personal information directly from the child, and there is structurally no private one-to-one messaging channel between an unrelated adult and a minor.
Your rights as a parent or guardian
You can, at any time:
- Review family schedules, registrations, payments, and other portal-visible information through your family portal. For a complete verified-access request, including registration details not displayed there, ask your organization or us.
- Delete it, or have us delete it, except where we must keep a record to meet a legal obligation.
- Refuse further collection or use — you can withdraw the child and stop any further use of their information.
Advertising — contextual only
Organizations may sell sponsorships that appear on their public pages. These ads are contextual only: an advertiser is chosen by the page and the organization, never by who is viewing it. We do not use behavioral or targeted advertising, do not build advertising profiles, and never share a child's personal information with advertisers or any third party for advertising. We never use minors' data for advertising of any kind.
How long we keep it
We keep a child's information only as long as it's reasonably necessary to run the program and meet the organization's legal and safety obligations, then delete it on the organization's instruction under our written data-retention policy. Raw and processed game recordings follow organization-set deletion periods. A reported safety incident may place the relevant recording on a restricted hold until the organization formally releases it. We do not retain children's information indefinitely.
Security
Traffic is encrypted in transit (TLS), passwords are stored hashed, and access to registration and medical data is restricted by organization-aware roles. Production recording remains disabled unless separate legal, safeguarding, device/field, and provider readiness approvals are current. No technical or organizational control eliminates all risk.
Contact
